Description:
Polyonics XF-541 is a polyimide label material with a permanent
pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive and a high opacity, matte
tan topcoat specifically designed for thermal transfer printing
on polyimide labels.
Polyonics XF-541 polyimide label material is designed for
barcode or alphanumeric identification of printed circuit
boards, or related electronic components. It is the ideal
label to withstand mixed circuit board processes, on either
the top or bottom side of the board. It has excellent resistance
to harsh fluxes, cleaners, saponifiers, and wave solder environments,
and resists all commonly employed methods of cleaning. XF
541 polyimide labels are one of several polyimide label materials
available.
The printed polyimide label resists smearing, even when the
board and label are directly removed from a reflow or wave
solder environment. The XF-541 matte topcoat resists solder
balls.
XF-541 polyimide label material can also be printed with dot
matrix, laser, and ink jet printing technologies.
The choice of thermal transfer printer can make a real difference
as well on the overall polyimide label performance. Our materials
can be used with most industrial thermal transfer printers,
such as Zebra, Intermec, Sato, Printronix, NEC, Datamax, and
Brady label printers, for harsh environment bar code label
printing with a wide variety of thermal transfer ribbons.
XF-541 polyimide labels are also suitable for use in ISO clean-room
applications, when used with a film liner instead of a paper
liner. |

Environmental

Customer
experience, supported by our laboratory data clearly show
that XF 541 polyimide label material can be stored for at
least one year in an environment below 80 degrees F and 60%
RH . We are confident that our product will perform well beyond
this time frame. However, it remains the responsibility of
the user to assess the risk of using such product. We encourage
customers to develop functional testing protocols that will
qualify a product's fitness for use, in their actual applications.
